Setting Up for A Successful Performance - Important tips to avoid performance issues

CHILD'S GARDEN OF DREAMS PERFORMANCE TIPS

1. Work with the conductor or producer to decide when and how to display the film credits. By contract the credits must be shown at least once during each performance. We recommend playing them several times during intermission or before the concert begins. We do not recommend playing them immediately before the piece begins.
2. The Show Files for "A Child's Garden of Dreams" are fairly easy to execute. A few practice runs using a recording of the music is usually all that is required to deliver a successful sync.
3. Each movement begins with a green Countdown bar. Each of these is designed to allow the title screen to fade in for the following movement. Pause the film at the end of each and wait for the conductor's downbeat to continue.
4. Movement 2 and 3 are combined in a single Show File. After movement 2 finishes the score for movement 3 will appear. Let the film play until after the green Countdown bar disappears at the start of movement 3. NOTE: the film does not fade to black between movements. The image that concludes movement 2 is the same image that serves as the title screen and opening sequence of movement 3.
5. The 5th movement is the most challenging for the Muséik operator; be sure to give extra time in practice to this section. At measure 207 the grand pause is especially challenging. It may take a few tries with the live ensemble to figure out the best way to get through this section.
